Denver 44th Annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2008
The Bellco Credit Union Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade will be on Saturday, March 15th, 2008, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. One of the best and largest in the U.S.A., it includes floats, clowns, pipe and traditional Irish bands, Irish step dancers, veterans groups, equestrian and animal units, El Jebel Shriners, and much more. More than 200 entries and 10,000 people will participate. It is estimated that more than 200,000 people were in attendance on St. Patrick's Day 2007. Everyone wants to be Irish on St. Patrick's Day!
The parade is organized and produced by an all-volunteer committee of approximately 300 members. The committee also conducts a Queen Colleen coronation ball in February, two publicity pub crawls and several other functions throughout the year. The Parade Committee supports ten or more local charitable causes, helping up to maintain our non-profit status and contributing to the Denver community. Fort Collins Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2008
Everyone will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day this year with an Irish parade bringing out the green in all of us. The Lucky Joe's St Patrick's Day Parade, on Saturday, March 15 will include many creative floats, performers, and lots of green! It is a day for people in the community to come out and display their more creative nature.
This FREE event is open to all ages, begins at 10:00am and beloved by the entire community. This event has been held in the historic district of downtown Fort Collins for two decades. Volunteers from the community help with making sure the parade comes together, including being marshals for the parade route, judges, grand marshals, and more. The crowds of thousands will
line the streets of the parade route, cheer on their friends and favorite entries, and enjoy the atmosphere. The entries are required to represent the St. Patrick's Day theme and will be judged by a community panel to determine who wins in each category. The categories are as follows: Animal, Bar &
Restaurant, Creative, Humorous, Musical and Overall Winner.
The parade route begins on Walnut Street, turns south on College Ave, and travels through Downtown Fort Collins. The majority of the crowds are watching the parade from College Ave, but there are many who watch from the residential streets. The parade continues south on College, turns east on Magnolia St, and turns north on Remington for the last leg of the parade. All parking structures will be open for parking.
